This is my version of the apartment complex from Paul's Middle Eastern buildings. I thought I'd paint it generically enough to serve as bland "Upper East Side"-style apartments.

Cork Tile

Here's one of the cork tiles. They measure 1 by 2 feet (really 300mm by 600mm). I believe you get 11 to the pack. I made all of the cork buildings pictured here so far with one pack, and I have 3 tiles still waiting.

This is my first "innovation" on the Matakishi Method: a corner store with an angled entrance. I haven't yet decided what it will be.

Stone pavers

Here are the stone pavers used for the decorative stone on the building sides. They are self-adhesive, but come off easily, so I glue them. They made it from Yorkshire to North Carolina in about a week. Much faster than the Litko pieces for the roof!

Another building from the wrong side of the tracks. I'm not sure how they boarded the window into solid stone. Masonry nails, I suppose. I have no idea why the skulls are there, but I was possessed by the spirit of Games Workshop.

Another of my "innovations" on the Matakishi Method. There are some narrow buildings like this in New York City. Filling all available real estate, I imagine.

Here's the back of one of the buildings. The floor has to be raised to the level of the steps in front, so I added interior steps down to the back door.

Here's a regular "Matakishi standard" building. I have a cheap tripod which seems to be tipping the camera slightly. My buildings are not really listing to the right.
